Meet Ashley Sousa – Founder of Royal Fluff & Altruistic Dog Rescue

For over 11 years, Ashley has dedicated her life to understanding, rescuing, and rehabilitating dogs of every breed, size, and background. As the founder of Altruistic Dog Rescue, a foster-based nonprofit that has placed hundreds of at risk dogs into loving homes, Ashley’s experience goes far beyond the basics of sit, stay, and heel.

She has worked with fearful street dogs, energetic shelter puppies, traumatized seniors, and everything in between. Her hands-on experience spans behavioral triage, transport, medical recovery, adoption placement, and long-term behavioral success. It’s this rescue-rooted understanding that now powers Royal Fluff, a place where every dog is seen, supported, and set up to thrive.

Ashley’s training philosophy is simple: structure builds confidence, enrichment builds joy, and trust builds transformation. Her methods are relationship-based, fear free, and always tailored to the dog in front of her.
